All users who utilise TUT login credentials are hereby informed that TUT recently experienced a cybersecurity incident. This incident impacted our systems and temporarily prevented users from logging in. As a precautionary measure, all login credentials have been reset.
While we are still investigating the incident, we are not aware of any data loss at this time. However, we urge all users to take the following steps to further secure their accounts:
- Reset your password immediately. Please create a strong, unique password that is not used for any other online accounts.
- Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your account. MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second factor, such as a code from your phone, to log in.
We understand that this incident may cause inconvenience and we apologize for any disruption it may have caused. We are working diligently to restore services in a secure manner and will provide regular updates on the situation.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to resolve this issue.
Sincerely,
The Tshwane University of Technology
