Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof Ben van Wyk, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Teaching, Learning and Technology outlined various areas of cooperation in the MoU, including curriculum development, faculty and staff exchange, student exchange, research collaboration, and formal faculty and student development opportunities.

Both universities expressed their commitment to working together to strengthen their academic programs and provide enriching experiences for their students and faculty. Under the agreement, TUT and UB will collaborate on curriculum development to offer quality programs and qualifications that meet the needs of their institutions.

“This will involve upgrading existing curricula and developing new ones in areas of mutual interest,” said Prof van Wyk.

Faculty and staff exchange programs will also be established to promote professional development and knowledge exchange among educators.

One of the partnership highlights is the student exchange program, which will provide opportunities for students from both universities, engage in internships, and participate in joint projects and research activities. The initiative aims to prepare students to become globally competent graduates equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today's interconnected world.

In conclusion, Prof van Wyk mentioned that staff and student development opportunities will be offered, allowing nominated staff and students to obtain formal qualifications at Masters and Doctorate levels within specific programs, thus showing the commitment of both universities to human capacity building and academic excellence.
