The Directorate of Co-operative Education
The Directorate of Co-operative Education (DCE) are responsible for the collaboration between the university, industry, commerce, and the public sector to enhance learning through our focus areas on work-integrated learning and graduate recruitment and employability. These areas all contribute to student’s intellectual, professional, and personal development and preparing an agile future fit student for the World of Work.
Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), embedded in a range of career-orientated programmes, allows for the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and behaviours by means of blended lectures and practical work, complemented by contextualised and well-structured authentic modalities of learning in action.
The Graduates Recruitment and Employability section focuses on students who received or are about to receive an academic degree or diploma. We link our students with potential employers. Not only do we link these students but we also stimulate the know-how on applying for jobs. This gives students the opportunity to attain and understand the skills and attributes that make graduates more likely to gain employment and be successful in their chosen occupation, which benefits themselves, the workforce, the community and economy.
