An nGAP lecturer and WIL coordinator from the Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Tourism Management, Ms Paulina Ngubeni, has been listed and awarded a Mail & Guardian Young 200 South Africans Award for 2024.

Mail & Guardian received more than 4000 nominations to recognise young individuals who are committed to driving social change and bringing transformation in their various sectors.

Ngubeni received an award for the Tourism and Hospitality category where she is recognised for her contribution and involvement in tourism teaching and learning and preparing students for the world of work in the tourism and hospitality industry as a WIL coordinator.

Dr Pascal Tauoatsoala, Head of the Department of Tourism Management commended and congratulated her on the achievement, saying the Department and her colleagues are extremely proud of Ngubeni’s achievement.
