On 13 November 2024, triumph and excellence will be the palpable in the air at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Academic Excellence Awards as the university gears up to recognise exceptional academic staff who have exceeded an already high benchmark in the areas of research, teaching, innovation and service excellence. The event will take place at The Maslow, Time Square in Pretoria.
This exciting event will feature a range of award categories, such as the teaching and learning technology awards, research niche area of the year, doctoral student of the year, emerging researcher of the year, newsmaker of the year, champion research capacity development and transformation, institutional and special recognition awards, and many more.
Prof Tinyiko Maluleke, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal said that one of TUT’s key driving forces is its firm commitment to delivering quality teaching and learning, as well as research outputs that speak to societal challenges.
“We will be honouring excellence at the level of the individual academic, as well as collective achievements, and this is at the heart and soul of what makes for an excellent university, such as TUT,” said Prof Maluleke.
“We are, therefore, very proud of these brilliant minds at TUT, the relentless researchers, lecturers, innovators who are our secret source. They are our value proposition and our unique selling points.
In conclusion, Prof Maluleke wished all the finalists of the academic excellence awards and encouraged all academics to continue to move TUT from good to great.
