Tshwane FM gears up for a historical night at the prestigious Telkom Radio Awards on 30 November 2024, boasting an impressive 15 nominations including the coveted station of the year award.
This achievement underscores the station's unwavering commitment to innovative programming, community engagement and exceptional talent, confirming its reputation as a leader in South African (SA) broadcasting.
The Telkom awards, widely regarded as the highest accolade in SA radio broadcasting, honour excellence across all sectors of the industry, celebrating those who push boundaries and elevate the art of broadcasting.
Among the standout initiatives is the Men’s Conference 2024, an all-male advocacy dialogue held on Valentine’s Day. Spearheaded by male presenters and listeners, this impactful event addressed critical issues surrounding gender-based violence, reinforcing the station’s dedication to fostering meaningful conversations within the community.
The station’s creativity also shone through in The Manifesto, a social media campaign where station presenters outlined their promise of service, creating a unique and engaging platform for listener interaction.
Additionally, Mark Ur Future, Tshwane FM’s 2024 national elections campaign, garnered recognition for its success in mobilising youth participation and sparking civic engagement on a national scale.
On the programming front, Something Brunchy and Pitori Originals Thursdays (POT) earned nominations for their exceptional daytime and night-time shows respectively. The flagship Afternoon Drive Show was also recognised for its dynamic content, cementing its status as a must-listen programme during peak travel hours. Behind the scenes, content producers Pheladi Sekobo, Freddie “Gee” Madise and Lesedi Madimabe received nominations.
