A total of 51 Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) students, almost half of whom were first-year undergraduates, participated in exchange programmes in Europe in the 2024 academic year.

These programmes are a result of collaboration between TUT and three universities in Germany, Sweden and France to provide global exposure to students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Two Master’s students in Electrical Engineering participated in the South Africa-Sweden University Forum, while 24 first-year students enrolled for the Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Malmö University, also in Sweden.

Seven honours students in Engineering travelled to Paris, France for the Cross Mobility Programme at the University Gustave Eiffel as part of the French South African Institute of Technology (F’SATI) programme. The students also had the pleasure and privilege of interacting with Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Buti Manamela, at the South African Embassy in Paris.
