Tshwane FM and the Tshwane University of Technology's Alumni Relations Office’s groundbreaking radio talk show, 'Alumni Talk', celebrated its first anniversary on 7 March 2025. The show has spotlighted countless exceptional TUT alumni while engaging in discussions that offer valuable insights for listeners, academics, students and fellow alumni.
Airing every Thursday from 18:00 to 19:00, 'Alumni Talk' features accomplished alumni with extensive experience at national and international level. These conversations provide a unique platform to share untold stories and contribute to the personal and professional development of the audience. The show aligns with the University's vision of being a people's University that transforms knowledge into action, embodying the theme for its 20th-anniversary celebrations in 2024 - #fromGOOD2GREAT.

Speaking about the success of the show and the feedback he receives Thursday, Nhlawulo Vision Chauke, host of the show, said there is no doubt that Alumni Talk impacts students and listeners positively. “The show has successfully empowered, motivated and inspired our audience, fostering a deep connection between listeners and our guests since its launch last year”.
“Building on this success, we will soon start to record podcasts and release them on TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts and full-length YouTube videos. This will allow our audience to revisit episodes, share them and engage with the content beyond the live sessions. Hosting this show has been an honour and a privilege, providing me with the opportunity to learn from and engage with great minds who continue to inspire me,” he added.

Shalate Davhana, Manager of the Alumni Relations and Fund-Raising Advancement and Partnerships Office, is also excited about the show's success. “This has been an incredible year of reconnecting with our alumni through quality radio programmes, sharing their great achievements and career insights” she said

Tebogo Jacko Magubane, Tshwane FM station manager, highlighted the show's growth and its significance. He added that, in the past year, the show has grown into an impressive platform that reconnects alumni with the station while also bridging the gap between students, graduates and industry professionals. “It has become a space for mentorship, knowledge sharing, and career inspiration, reinforcing the value of our alumni network” he said.
