Have you checked out the vibrant new mural on the Arts Campus? It's got some serious flair.

Brent Swart, a part time lecturer in the Department of Visual Communication (Integrated Communication Design – ICD), was tasked with creating the mural for a wall in South Africa to celebrate PUBG Mobile's relationship with its African player base.

PUBG Mobile is a free-to-play battle royale video game.

He collaborated with four talented alumni students, Tshepo Gaobepe, Jimmy Libese, Ibukun Awe and Ayanda Mzobe, all of whom have won Ptopia Design Project (PDP) awards with PUBG Mobile, to design and paint the artwork.

For the mural, they incorporated the South African flag to commemorate PUBG Mobile’s 7th anniversary, while blending in local cultural elements to craft a vibrant and engaging piece.

The entire process was streamed live on TikTok, attracting an impressive 4 500 viewers and garnering over half a million likes.

The artwork will also be featured on merchandise for future African PUBG Mobile events and competitions. Additionally, PUBG Mobile is launching a bursary programme for exceptional ICD students, further strengthening the bond between the PDP and ICD.

The vibrant mural on the Arts Campus celebrates PUBG Mobile's connection with Africa, showcasing local culture and creative talent.
