On Tuesday, 20 February 2024, the TUT Ga-Rankuwa Campus heartily welcomed the TUT executive management team which was led by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Tinyiko Maluleke. The executive team chose to hold their latest executive management committee meeting at the Garankuwa campus. Amongst other things, this gesture underscores the commitment of the VC and his executive team to the delivery of excellent service and the promotion of academic excellence across all TUT campuses.

“The Ga-Rankuwa Campus is a serious contender for becoming the cleanest TUT campus. The whole campus exudes the TUT ambition to keep moving from ‘good to great’ in every way and at every level”, said Professor Maluleke during a walkabout at the campus.

Dr Elikanah Lumadi, Interim Campus Rector, and his colleagues took the Vice-Chancellor and some executives, including the DVC: Operations, Dr Tlale, on a campus walkabout. During the walk around campus, they visited, amongst others, the newly-constructed hall and other state-of-the-art facilities such as the high-tech lecture rooms which are currently under construction. Noting that a lot still needed to be done, the Vice Chancellor was nevertheless encouraged by the positive attitudes of the staff and students.

The Ga-Rankuwa Campus is home to the TUT Faculty of Economics and Finance. As well as boasting one of the highest student success rates among its peers, the faculty hosts an innovative annual tax clinic session during which its tax experts offer free tax advice to staff, students and the general public. Over the years, the Faculty of Economics and Finance has earned the right to be counted among the best providers of economic and finance education in the country and in the continent.
