Armed with four distinctions, including one in Life Sciences, Lerato Shoroma was confident that her application to study radiography at the Tshwane University of Technology would be successful.

Lerato Lerato Shoroma Shoroma, who is enrolled for the Bachelor of Radiography in Diagnostic, joins about 15 000 new students who are starting their first-year studies across TUT’s seven faculties on 2 February 2026.

She said though she had her mind set on a career in the health sciences since primary school, it was not until Grade 8, when she was introduced to radiography during a career day by representatives from TUT’s Faculty of Science, that her mind was made up.

“I learnt about radiography that day and I decided it was the field I would like to pursue when I finish school.

“I later learnt that TUT’s radiography course was one of the best in the country. If you want to be the best; you must learn from the best,” she said.

Shoroma, who matriculated from Jeppe Education Centre in 2025, said she would like to pursue her radiography studies up to PhD level.
