The first phase in the rolling out of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Giyani Campus is off to an excellent start – a start that is worthy of a significant national project of this stature.

As the University celebrated South African Library Week from 17 to 23 March, the Pretoria Library and Information Services embarked on a student outreach programme as part of the festivities for the week. Themed “Libraries for Sustainable Communities”, SA Library Week is celebrated annually around the 20th of March, the date when the first South African Library was established in 1818.

On behalf of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Council and the Executive Management Committee, I am pleased to announce that the university has taken a significant step in enhancing the well-being and health of its staff and students by actively participating in the FISU (International University Sports Federation) Healthy Campus Initiative and we have brought home the Healthy Campus Bronze Certification.
